Following January's thundering 'Diver' EP, Various Production have remained hard at work behind the mixing desk, and are now within touching distance of completing their hotly-anticipated second album, from which these latest tracks are drawn.
Their first album of the 90s and Overkill's last great thrash album of the classic era. Horrorscope has a lot going for it; following the same template of their previous album, 'The Years Of Decay', with a mixture of fast and mid paced tracks, but with a noticeable different production sound/5().
In , the group started their own record label, called Various Records or Various Production, where they began releasing their own material, usually on 7" or 12" vinyl, or later as mp3 releases. Production Notes 'I sank so much of my own money into it that the record company thought I'd gone mad', Winwood told me when I asked him about the studio he had constructed on his Gloucestershire estate. The building's thick stone walls ensured a solid recording environment, and he kitted it out with the best gear he could afford, including the track soundboard – with which Free's albums Missing: Pintman.
I got this album when it came out in I was 12 at the time and have always loved it. It's a lot different (production wise) than other Queen albums, especially in the ultra tight drum sound. Because the album is 40yrs old and played to death, there's a lot of dust on it and the grooves are shallow. This new pressing sounds GREAT/5().
